Some small jobs can be handled without changing the plumbing system. The exact setup still matters.
We can assess tap repairs, tap replacements and tap washers. We can also check some ball valves, ballcocks, plugs and appliance jobs.
We can also assess some over-bath shower fittings. These must use the existing bath taps.
Send clear photos before booking. We will confirm if the job fits this service before work starts.
If the photos show pipework, traps, wastes or drains, we will tell you. That work needs an authorised plumber.
Tap repairs and tap replacements
A dripping tap can be a small repair. A stiff or loose tap can also need attention.
We can assess jobs such as:
- A tap that keeps dripping.
- A loose tap handle.
- A tap that is hard to turn.
- A worn tap washer.
- A tap that needs replacement.
- A suitable tap part that needs replacement.
Send one photo of the whole tap. Add a close photo of the fault.
Show the area below the tap too. Water inside a cabinet can come from more than one place.
Already bought a new tap? Send the brand and model before booking.
We will check if the job stays at the tap. Supply, waste or hidden pipe work needs an authorised plumber.

Tap washers, ball valves, ballcocks and plugs
We can assess worn tap washers and selected ball valves or ballcocks.
For a toilet cistern, we only assess the valve or ballcock itself. We do not take on full toilet or cistern plumbing.
We do not work on inlet, overflow or other cistern pipes. Use an authorised plumber for that work.
Simple plug replacement can also fit this service. This means the plug itself. It does not include the waste fitting below it.
Plug-and-waste fittings, traps and waste pipes are outside this service.
Before booking, send clear photos of the fitting and nearby area.
Dishwasher and washing-machine work
We can assess some dishwasher and washing-machine jobs. The existing plumbing must already suit the appliance.
We only take on these jobs when the supply and waste pipes stay untouched. They must not need fixing, unfixing, moving or changing.
This may suit a simple appliance fit or removal. The plumbing connections must stay untouched.
Send photos of the appliance space before booking. Also show the water and waste points.
An authorised plumber is required if the job needs:
- A new water point.
- A moved water point.
- A new waste point.
- A changed waste connection.
- Work on a trap.
- Work on a standpipe.
- Work on a waste pipe.
- Work on fixed supply pipework.
- Repair of a pipe leak.
- Plumbing for a new appliance location.
If the setup is unclear, we will not change the plumbing. We will tell you if a plumber is needed.
Fixed electrical work is separate. A new power point or fixed wiring needs the right electrical worker.
Over-bath shower fittings
We can assess some over-bath shower fittings. They must be supplied through the existing bath taps.
The bath taps must stay as the water source. No new shower plumbing is included.
A simple fitting may suit this service. We can also assess its removal.
A normal shower install is different. We do not install shower mixers or new pipes. We also do not work on hidden or waste plumbing.
If that work is needed, use an authorised plumber.

- For the tap work covered here, we can assess repair or replacement. If the job also needs pipe or hidden plumbing work, use an authorised plumber.
- Can you replace a tap washer?
- Yes. We can assess tap-washer replacement as part of this service. Send a clear tap photo first so we can check the likely repair.
- Can you repair a toilet ballcock?
