Hanging ready-made curtains

Already bought the curtains and track? We can help fit and hang them.

Ready-made curtains still need the right track position. The drop, width, floor gap, and window shape all affect the result.

Send the curtain size and product link. Add the track or rod details too.

We can hang common eyelet curtains. We can also hang many curtains that use hooks or gliders.

Custom sewing and curtain changes are not part of this service. Use a curtain maker for hemming or fabric alterations.

Blind installation and re-fitting

We can fit many common non-motorised blinds. The product and fixing surface must suit the job.

This may include selected roller blinds and other simple systems. Send the exact blind details before booking.

We check the bracket points first. We also check whether the blind is an inside or outside mount.

A blind can fail when a bracket loosens. The old hole may no longer hold a fixing well.

We can assess a new fixing point or another suitable repair. The wall or frame must remain sound.

Blind motors and fixed wiring need the right specialist. Complex blind mechanisms may also need a blind repair specialist.

When a curtain rail or blind bracket pulls loose

A loose bracket is not always a screw problem. The material behind the bracket matters.

Plasterboard can break around an old fixing. Timber can split or soften. An old hole can also grow too large.

We check the fitting and nearby surface first. We then choose a repair that suits the load.

Sometimes the bracket can stay in the same place. Other jobs need a new fixing point.

We will not keep adding screws to a weak spot. Wider wall damage may need a separate wall repair.

Small wall marks around old fittings

Removing an old track can leave small screw holes. A failed bracket can also damage the wall face.

We can assess small make-good work linked to the fitting job. The wall must be dry and sound.

Large holes need a wider wall repair. Damp, soft, or mouldy lining needs the cause checked first.

Check the fixing area before drilling

Curtain and blind fittings can sit near other building parts. Care is needed before drilling.

Send a wide photo of the wall or window. Show nearby switches, sockets, alarms, vents, or other fittings.

Do not remove electrical devices to make room for a track. Fixed electrical work needs an authorised electrical worker.

A damaged window frame may also need a joinery specialist. We will flag that before unsuitable work starts.

Corded blinds need safe cord control

Loose blind cords can harm young children. Cord safety matters in every room they can reach.

Product Safety New Zealand recommends cordless window coverings where possible.

For corded coverings, cords should stay secured and out of reach. A suitable tension device or cleat may help.

We can fit a supplied safety device when the product and fixing point suit. We install the device as its maker directs.

Tell us if the home has young children. We can include the cord setup in the job review.

Curtains and blinds in rental homes

Wall and frame fixings can change a rental property. Tenants should get the right approval before work starts.
